Is your roof area suitable for installing a solar energy system?

The installation of distributed solar energy system is not new. Do you know how to estimate the installed capacity when installing rooftop solar photovoltaic power stations?

Calculation of installed capacity based on roof area

In general, if each module has 280 watts, and the module specification is 1164mm long and 992mm wide, we can estimate how large the solar energy system can be installed on the roof of our house, which can be calculated according to the following formula:

1. Fixed on cement flat roof: installed capacity=100W/m2 × Roof area.

2. Fixed on color steel or tile roof: installed capacity=150 W/m2 × Roof area.

3. Use the elevated column to install in the courtyard to realize active tracking: installed capacity=110W/m2 × (East west length of the courtyard × 5 m).

If a distributed solar energy system is installed on the roof of industrial and commercial plants with steel structure and colored steel tiles, photovoltaic solar panels are generally only paved on the south side. The proportion of solar panels is generally 1KW, covering an area of 10 ㎡, which means that a 1MW (1MW=1000KW) project needs to use an area of 10000 ㎡.

If it is a brick and tile roof of a family villa, photovoltaic solar panels will be fully paved in the unshielded roof area from 08:00 to 16:00. Although the installation method of the distributed home 10kw solar energy system is slightly different from that of the color steel tile roof, its area ratio is similar, which is about 10 m2 for 1KW. That is to say, a villa roof with a relatively large area (100~150m2) can be installed with a distributed roof solar energy system of about 10KW, and the average annual power generation in 25 years is about 10000~15000 kwh.

If it is a flat concrete roof, in order to design the best fixed horizontal inclination, a certain spacing is required between each row of photovoltaic solar panels to ensure that they are not obscured by the shadow of photovoltaic solar panels in the front row. Therefore, the roof area occupied by the entire distributed photovoltaic solar power station project will be larger than the color steel tiles and villa roofs that can realize the flat laying of photovoltaic solar panels. The roof area occupied by 1KW is about 15-200m2, which means that the 1MW project needs to use an area of 15-2000m2.

For ordinary families, the installation of a set of 5~20KW solar energy system can meet the daily electricity demand.
